This is a Marshmallow update for HTC Desire 626.
Marshmallow, one of the first 4 Android phones, was also the first to use Android Market, and we’ve been waiting for an update for a long time now. Marshmallow may have been our last chance to see HTC’s first full Android release, and we’re glad that this update brings them to the party.
Marshmallow is HTCs first Android release that is released to the public, and this is its first one that is not a software update. HTCs Marshmallow update brings the HTC Desire 626 to Gingerbread, which is an Android 2.3 update that lets the phone’s UI update to Android 2.3.
As much as I like Marshmallow, I’m sad to see that HTC would release a new build on an already unstable platform, but this is a good update for Marshmallow’s sake. The Desire 626 is a beautiful piece of hardware, and I hope that the next update brings it to better stock Android.
HTC’s Marshmallow launch is supposed to be a big success, and I don’t think we’re watching a bunch of HTC releases over and over. That being said, I’m still hoping for some major success to come out of it.
I feel like this is the best Marshmallow update HTC has done so far. Yes, the OS is unstable, but the device is rocking a new camera, camera lens, and fingerprint sensor. Other than that, the device is pretty stock. I just hope this Marshmallow update delivers on other things too.
