How To Prepare And Plan Effectively For A Math Exam?

Exams bring fear to some students. They are just like punishment and especially it is a mental pressure for them. Exams cause anxiety and other illnesses for no reason.

Managing time and owning good study habits can help students to decrease the stress levels and anxiety they have during exams. Most students find math a very difficult subject. To get a good score in Math exams we need to practice and grasp the concepts behind the topic or questions.

In the most difficult times when all the schools and coaching institutions were closed due to COVID- 19, students felt very stressed in their exams. Especially with Math, a subject that needs the most conceptual visualization and logical thinking. As there was no face-to-face interaction between students with the teachers it became difficult to understand the concept behind the topic and visualize it. Then math online learning helped them during the pandemic time to have a clear understanding of the subject.

Also, giving a math test isn’t so easy. It requires a lot of practice and patience to be prepared for the exam, so here we are providing some tips on how to prepare and plan for the Math Exam.

Useful Tips to Prepare and Plan Effectively for Math Exam

Keep Up Your Pace

Most students make a misconception in their mind that they will start their practice a month before exams, but this is wrong. Starting your practice before a month doesn’t help you a lot. It will make you pass but doesn’t make you score well.

So start your practice as early as you can. Try not to miss any online classes, be serious, and pay attention to what tutors teach you. If you don’t understand any topic, ask the teacher immediately. Do practice it every day.

Do Your Homework/ Assignment-

Homework is the rememorizing of concepts we study in the class, so do your homework on time, and don’t copy it from anybody. You can take your assignments/ homework as a test also. Make notes while writing your homework.

Use Practice Test and Exams- Old or previous years’ question papers are just like the treasure you find in the heap of your unorganized questions (from notebook, textbook, online, etc.). By practicing previous question papers you’ll become familiar with what type of questions are asked/ trending or have a maximum chance of repetition.

Make a Formula Chart/ Sheet-

By making the formulae chart/ sheet you are not messing up at the time of last time preparation of the exam. You can use it to revise at end moments plus it comes as handy as well.

Practice Online –

This is the golden time for students because everything is now available on the internet. So take help from the internet like you can search for different questions, solve a doubt, or watch a video lecture relevant to that topic. Not only these, but you can also keep listening to revision notes or explanation videos prepared by subject experts.

Set Rewards –

Our brain is set in such a way that for a reward we do work, it doesn’t matter what the reward is, but we need a reward, so set a reward for yourself. When you solve a given task i.e., a question or cover a topic you can reward yourself, it will create excitement, and motivate you to do the particular job.
